OoSC Childern Can Take Admission in NIOS Open Board

The objective of special training for children (Out of School Children Take Admission in NIOS). admitted to age ( 6 to 14 years) appropriate classes is to enhance the learning levels of these children so that they can be at par with other children of their age. With this training Out of School Children will be able to learn and progress with other children of their age in the regular schools. The study material content, nios teaching learning strategies and nios duration of training should be decided on the basis of learner’s prior learning experiences and age.

Who are OoSC (Out of School Childern)?

As per new guidlines by NIOS, Now Out of School Childern can get admission in nios board. Out of school children (OoSC) may be those who are non-enrolled in any school or dropped out at any stage before completing elementary education. There is a great heterogeneity among children who are out of school. for example – Child labour, Street childern etc.

Get Admission in Nios Open Board

Out of School Children Take Admission in NIOS, there may be adolescent girls who have never attended school or may have dropped out of school during early years. Children living in disturbed areas or in difficult circumstances. also need to be identified and admitted in neighbourhood schools. Such diverse categories of children need special training to bridge their learning gaps and to join mainstream of education in the age appropriate classes.

The terms and conditions for Out of School Children Admission in NIOS are as under:

  1.  Student can registered for Out of School Children (OoSC) in the NIOS portal in OBE Scheme.
  2. Nios give study centre to Out of School Children (OoSC) as per his/her location.
  3. Will be enrolled in the Study Centre as per the list provided by nios.
  4. The Out of School Children (OoSC) will be registered under stream-I of NIOS only.
  5.  NIOS will facilitate the OoSC by providing the Printed self study material.
  6.  One Study centre Government / Provincialised Schools will have to conduct PCP (Theory and Practical’s).
  7. As per NIOS norms and will have to upload the PCP schedule on NIOS website.

  9. Various online platform, like Live Video programmes on PM E-Vidya, study support on Diksha platform.
  10. Live Personal Contact Programmes (PCPs) through web Radio (Mukta Vidya Vani). Community based programmes on community Radio of NIOS.
  11.  OoSC student will get nine chances to appear. in the public examinations over a period of five years to complete his /her course.
  12. One need to children of 6-14 years age group and adolescents/adults of 14 years of age and above.

Features and Flexibilities

  • Registration period valid for a maximum period of five years.
  • Flexibility of choosing any language as the medium of study from Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Urdu or any Regional Language.
  • Minimum age for admission is 7 years as on 31st March of the year.
  • Assessment by the Accredited Agencies (AAs) as per guidelines provided by NIOS.
  • First examination at any level in the next year from the year of admission.
  • The facility of credit accumulation is available for OBE learners. A learner would be eligible for the certificate only when he/she qualifies in all the subjects for the concerned level.
  • A child should have attained the age of at least 7 years at Level ‘A’, 9 years at Level ‘B’ and 12 years at Level ‘C’ for admission.
  • The minimum duration of study for each level A/B/C is one academic year.
